Congratulations on the latest EP ”Hurricane Mandy”, you’re dropping a new bonus track ‘888’, tell us a little bit about it and why did you choose to release it right after your EP?
Thank you!!! 888 is just a fun, catchy song that I knew would capture the fans’ attention. I thought it was the perfect song to drop in time for the summer around the corner.
We’ve seen a bit of a trend on TikTok with ‘888’ and it’s not even out, what do expect from fans once the whole record is out?
It’s coming out right before Pride Month, and I’d love to see the fans doing the dance I made for it in their pride outfits and makeup. It makes me so happy to see my listeners embracing their most authentic selves.
Can you share a memorable moment from your journey to fame that has had a significant impact on your music career?
When I first moved out to LA, I hadn’t yet gotten an apartment or a record deal. I just took a leap of faith and figured it out as I went along. That period in my life made me realize so much of the journey to success is about taking risks and betting on yourself. You gotta believe in you first before the world gives you your recognition.
Your recent EP has received a lot of positive feedback. Can you tell us about the creative process behind it and the message you hope to convey through your music?
I made the whole EP with Champagne Therapy Music Group, all the writers and producers are so talented. Most of the songs just flowed right through me and into the music, I’m just the channeler of all of it. My whole EP is about my journey into the industry as an up-and-coming artist, and living life to the fullest.
How do you balance your personal life with your demanding career in the music industry?
My career IS my life and I’m absolutely obsessed with it. Balance isn’t something that I’ve sought out yet. I love to make friends with other artists and creatives, because we can still work and do things to build our names while still having fun. Every once in a while, I’ll enjoy a party or two, but being in the studio or on a stage is my safe space.
What has been the most unexpected challenge you’ve faced in your music career, and how did you overcome it?
The process of building an audience can be tough. You don’t just have your career built out for you the second you go viral on TikTok or Instagram. Building a real, long-lasting name for yourself takes years of diligence and hard work. The hardest part has definitely been keeping the momentum without always seeing results, but I overcome it by remembering why I started making music in the first place. It was never about the streams, the fame, or the money. It’s because it’s who I am and what I love to do.
You’ve recently signed a record deal with Champagne Therapy Music Group. How did this partnership come about, and what are your hopes for the future with this label?
Tommy Brown had found me last year through an Instagram duet challenge he posted, and we took off from there. As far as future plans with the label, I strive to continue to make amazing records and collaborate with other amazing rising artists. I’d also love to potentially expand my horizons with Champagne Therapy and partner up with a major label when the time is right!
Can you share any exciting projects or collaborations you have in the works that your fans can look forward to?
There’s some top-secret stuff in the works at the moment but stay tuned. For now, enjoy 888 & Hurricane Mandy, and keep your eye out for more. 😉
Your music often reflects personal experiences and emotions. Can you share a song that holds special meaning for you about family, friends or acquaintances, and the support they’ve provided throughout your journey in the music industry?
I’ve written lots of music about my relationships and connections, they just haven’t been released yet. I definitely want to get more personal with my audience as I continue to grow as an artist. It can be scary to be vulnerable with the world, but it’s what this world needs. I’m excited to start blossoming and showing everyone more behind the life of Mandy Rose.
Mental health awareness is an important topic in today’s society. How do you prioritize self-care and maintain your well-being while navigating the challenges of the music industry?
Well, I’ll tell you, it took me a while to find some peace of mind while chasing my dreams. Life doesn’t stop for anyone so you got to keep going through the ups and downs. I find that what helps me best is to have things outside of work that helps refresh my mind. It’s also important to give yourself those rest days here and there when you feel the burn-out coming. Self-care has to be a priority when you want to be the face of something spectacular.
Outside of your music career, what are some of your favorite hobbies or activities that you enjoy in your free time?
I like working out, reading, hanging with good friends, etc. When the weather gets nice, I’m actually quite a fan of the beach as well.
Any upcoming collaborations or features on the horizon?
Definitely in the works, but nothing I can share quite yet.
Finally, what legacy do you hope to leave through your music, and what do you ultimately want your fans to take away from your artistry?
Through my music, I want to show the world how much we are capable of as people when we choose to stop giving so much attention to what everyone thinks is best and just do what feels right to us. Being an artist is about embracing who you are and channeling that for the world to see. I want to leave a legacy of empowerment, self-expression, sensuality, and pure ecstasy.
