LIGHTHOUSE showcases Duff McKagan revealing a deeper side of his artistry than ever, blending acoustic nuances with robust rock ‘n’ roll, achieving a balance between introspective musings and sheer vitality. The album’s introduction occurred earlier this summer with the release of its title track, LIGHTHOUSE, accompanied by its official visualizer available on Duff McKagan’s official YouTube channel.
This marks the debut album crafted in McKagan’s studio. Tracks such as HOPE, which features the renowned Paul McCartney drummer Abe Laboriel Jr. and a melodic guitar sequence by Slash, and the thoughtful I JUST DON’T KNOW, with contributions from McKagan’s old ally, Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains, manifest McKagan’s enriched artistic essence, marrying acoustic touches with dynamic rock to strike an equilibrium between contemplation and raw energy. The set of 11 songs is further accentuated by another version of the title track, LIGHTHOUSE (REPRISE), with the legendary Iggy Pop making an appearance.
Earlier this year, McKagan introduced his fresh musical direction with THIS IS THE SONG, a trio of songs dedicated to Mental Health Awareness Month, paired with a proactive campaign on Propeller. This EP, which received commendations from media outlets like Rolling Stone, Consequence of Sound, Loudwire, and American Songwriter, prominently features the heartfelt title track, THIS IS THE SONG, complemented by its official video, available for viewing on YouTube.
